Microneedling is a method of introducing controlled "micro" injuries into the skin's epidermis and dermal junctions, allowing your skin to produce more collagen and elastin. This process causes much less damage than dermal rolling, lasers,and other ablative treatments. Microneedling is great for deep wrinkles, fine lines, dark spots, texture, uneven skin tones, acne scarring, and overall firmness. This method can be used with a hyluronic gel or with PRP (platelet-rich plasma). Safe, sterile, and precise needles are used to perform the procedure.
Microneedling with the hyluronic gel is a great way to create a natural barrier between your skin and the environment. This gel helps to prevent trans-epidermal water loss and binds 1,000 times its weight in moisture.
When microneedling with PRP, your skin receives its own special "cocktail" to take your microneedling to a whole new level! We take some of your own plasma and microneedle this into the skin. This means using all of your own vitamins, nutrients, stem cells, amino acids, minerals, electrolytes, and proteins. The PRP helps to clot injuries very quickly and helps to fight bacteria and viruses.
Allure LUX recommends three to six (3-6) treatments about four (4) weeks apart. The procedure is normally completed in 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment required. Deeper scarring, wrinkles, and more severe sun damage usually requires six (6) treatments.
After Care: Avoid sweat-inducing activities for at least twelve (12) hours post-treatment. Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least seventy-two (72) hours post-treatment. Do not use any glycolic acids, retinoids, or Ph lowering skin care products until at least five (5) days after your treatment. If you are unsure about the ingredients of any product, ask a member of the Allure LUX team before using the product. You should not resume your normal skin care regimin until five (5) days after your treatment.
Side Effects: After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance; simiar to a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness, mild sensitivity to touch, mild burning sensation,and pinpoint bruising on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatment and within the next 24 hours. After three days, there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
